There are three ways to connect a laptop. The most convenient is a single USB-C cable or wireless sharing.
1. HDMI + USB (touch)
The HDMI cable carries image and sound. To control the laptop by touching the display, also connect a USB cable (the “Touch” port) – touch then works like a mouse.
2. USB-C
If both the laptop and the display have a USB-C port with video support, one cable carries image, sound and touch, and often charges the laptop as well.
3. Wireless
Android displays have screen sharing apps. Start the app on your laptop or phone and select the display. Handy when students present their work.
If there is no image
- select the correct input on the display (HDMI 1, HDMI 2, USB-C),
- on the laptop, turn on screen duplication or extension (Windows: Win+P),
- check the cable – long HDMI runs may need a booster.
If a laptop is to stay permanently at the display, consider an OPS computer that slides into the display.
