A display with a camera and microphones connects students in the classroom with those learning remotely – without an extra computer.
What you need
- a camera covering the board and the teacher (built-in or USB),
- a microphone array with echo and noise cancellation,
- Teams, Zoom or Meet – on an Android display, an OPS computer or a laptop,
- a stable network connection, ideally wired.
Displays with a camera
Some models have a wide-angle 4K camera and an 8-microphone array – the simplest solution. See displays with a camera and microphones.
Good practice
- set the camera at eye level and check the framing before the lesson,
- share the whiteboard with remote participants rather than a camera pointed at the screen,
- in large rooms, add ceiling or wireless microphones for the teacher,
- record lessons for absent students.
Frequently asked questions
Is the built-in camera enough for a large room?
For up to about 30 people, usually yes. In auditoriums, a PTZ camera and a separate sound system work better.
