EDLA is a Google programme that lets display manufacturers install official Google services.
What EDLA gives you
- the official Google Play Store and automatic app updates,
- Google Classroom, Drive, Docs, Slides and Meet directly on the display,
- sign-in with a school account and access to your own materials,
- regular Android security patches.
Is EDLA essential?
No, but it makes life much easier in schools using Google Workspace for Education. Without EDLA, apps are installed from other sources or run on a computer connected to the display.
